In a recent Calgary office renovation, the design team sought a wall system that delivered architectural presence while solving two core challenges: echo reduction and seamless door integration.

PANELUX™ slat panels were selected to create a refined architectural feature wall that delivered both visual impact and functional performance. Installed across the main walls and extended seamlessly onto a concealed sliding door system, the slat panels formed a continuous linear surface, clean, uninterrupted, and distinctly modern. The integrated design preserved the architectural intent while enhancing the space with warmth, texture, and controlled acoustics.

Echo Reduction:

The space achieved a significant reduction in reverberation and echo. The slatted wood surface, paired with its acoustic backing, absorbed excess sound and minimized reflection, creating a quieter, more focused environment. The result is a space that not only looks architecturally refined, but performs with purpose.

Sliding Door Integration:

Thanks to the panel’s lightweight construction and easy-to-cut format , installers seamlessly clad both the fixed wall and the sliding door face in the same finish. The result: when closed, the door disappears into the feature wall, maintaining visual continuity without adding structural load.

Architectural Function:

Beyond aesthetics, the slat panels delivered measurable acoustic performance while maintaining a refined architectural presence. Their durable construction and precision installation ensured the feature wall was not only visually striking, but built for long-term performance in a high-use commercial setting.

Outcome:

A sophisticated wood slat statement wall that enhances acoustics, integrates seamlessly with a concealed sliding door, and reinforces the architectural flow of the space. With PANELUX™, design and performance work in complete harmony.
